WB&A Trail Closure Notice

Due to emergency pipe installation for the Piney Orchard WRF Emergency Bypass Force Main, the WB&A Trail will be closed from Conway Road to Patuxent Road from Monday, July 14, to Friday, August 8, 2025. This closure marks the beginning of Phase 1 of a two-phase installation process. Phase 2 will begin on Monday, August 11, and will continue until Friday, August 29, 2025. During Phase 2, the WB&A Trail will be closed between Patuxent Road and Strawberry Lake Way. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

WB&A Crosswalk

Public Works is reconfiguring the crosswalk for the WB&A Trail at Waugh Chapel Road this week.  Trail users may experience redirection at this intersection until the work is completed.

WB&A Trail is Open Dawn to Dusk

The mainline is 5.7 miles in length with many community connections. A spur, referred to as Phase IV runs from Strawberry Lake Way at the mainline up to Annapolis Road. Half of this is existing and extends for 1.6 miles. When complete, the project will link the South Shore Trail in Odenton with the Patuxent River and an existing rail trail in Prince George's County. In addition to the regional benefits of the WB&A Trail, it is also a critical component of the East Coast Greenway and the American Discovery Trail.
