Annapolis, MD (September 28, 2021) - The Department of Aging and Disabilities is pleased to announce three up-coming Caregiver Educational Workshops for October 2021.
Having an emergency preparedness kit, being informed of local hazards, and practicing emergency preparations could make you more ready as a caregiver in an emergency. On October 13th at 6:30 pm, James Kremple, Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management, will present a workshop on Emergency Preparedness for Caregivers. This workshop will be held at the North County/Hein office located at 7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. On October 6th at 6:30 pm, Mary Chaput, Family Caregiver Support Program Director, will facilitate the Virtual Dementia Live Program via the Zoom platform. On October 13, at 2:00 pm, the Department will offer an in-person Dementia Live workshop at 7320 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The Dementia Live workshop is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. Face masks are required in all county buildings for participants attending in-person sessions.
The workshops are presented at no cost to the public by the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
