Annapolis, MD (April 25, 2023) - On Thursday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m., Jeanne Finnegan, CDP, will present “Sensory Stimulation for Individuals with Dementia.” Sensory stimulation helps people with dementia by triggering positive emotions and memories in those who have lost their ability to connect with the world around them. Using sensory stimulation to arouse one or more of the five senses can help them feel safe and relaxed and may improve their mood, self-esteem, and sense of well-being.
This workshop is presented at no cost to the public by the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities. The workshop will be held at the North County Office/Hein Building at 7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.
