Annapolis, MD (August 29, 2024) - On Tuesday, September 10th, at 6:30 pm, an in-person Dementia Live® workshop will be held at the North County/Hein Office Building (7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie). The Dementia Live® workshop is a high-impact dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. On Wednesday, September 11th, at 6:00 p.m., Mary Chaput, Program Director of Family Caregiver Support Programs at the Department of Aging and Disabilities, will present “Dementia 101: Understanding the Changes and Developing Coping Skills." This workshop session will cover a basic understanding of dementia and how it affects the individual diagnosed and their caregivers. Communication tools and strategies for coping with changing behaviors will also be discussed. This workshop will be held at the Michael E. These workshops are presented at no cost to the public through the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
