About
Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control performs humane euthanasia at the request of an owner. The procedure is performed by technicians certified in humane euthanasia. If the owner prefers to take the animal’s remains home with them after the procedure has been performed, this can be arranged. However, the owner must inform the Animal Care & Control employees of their intent at the time of their arrival.
Owner Requirements
Animal Care & Control requires animal owners requesting euthanasia provide:
- A driver’s license (for identification purposes)
- Proof of ownership of the animal (i.e. veterinary records, proof of license, etc.)
- All applicable fees at the time the service will be provided.
Animal Care & Control is unable to allow owners to remain with their pet during the euthanasia process, nor does it offer cremation services. For additional services it recommends that owners speak with their regular veterinarian or a private crematory service provider.
How to Schedule
Please email ACCIncoming@aacounty.org or call (410)222-3894 for an appointment.
Fees
Please note we offer humane euthanasia services to Anne Arundel County residents for a fee of $5.00 for the procedure and, if the animal's remains are left with Animal Care & Control for disposal, an additional fee of $0.77 per pound.
We are sorry you've come to a time in your pet's life where you must consider letting him/her go peacefully.
