Anne Arundel County Budget Town Hall Meetings Begin

Wednesday, February 27

Interactive budget tool now live on county website

The first of seven budget town hall meetings will be held on Wednesday evening, February 27 at Southern High School in Harwood, Md. The town hall meetings will feature opening remarks from County Executive Pittman and the County Councilmember representing the district, followed by a brief budget presentation. Attendees will then be invited to make public comments.

County Executive Pittman launched an interactive budget tool on the county website. Users can see how revenue and expenses of the current year's budget are divided, as well as estimated costs for some county personnel positions and equipment. Users are able to adjust tax rates, add new positions - like teacher, police, firefighters or zoning inspectors - and the tool will calculate the fiscal impact. The tool is available at:

County Executive Pittman will introduce the budget on May 1, in accordance with the county charter.  The County Council then has 45 days to deliberate and pass a balanced budget.
