Just a few weeks into the new year and your elected county officials are preparing for fiscal budget 2022.

I encourage all members of the 5th District to be participants in the decision making process. This is your tax money at work, and your thoughts and ideas are important to me.

Please register in advance to speak, or provide written comments.  Information is provided in the link.

Sign up to participate in the Budget Town Hall at aacounty.org/budgettownhalls.

Check the attached graphic that the Admin is using to promote the events, and the Facebook event for District 5 can be found here. Please feel free to share.

The county’s interactive budget tool has been updated and is now live on the county website at aacounty.org/yourbudget. Users are able to see how the county’s tax rates compare to other counties, examine revenue and expenses of the current year’s budget, explore approximate costs of programs, equipment, and staff positions, and adjust tax rates and add expenses to calculate the fiscal impact.

County Executive Pittman will introduce the budget on April 30, in accordance with the county charter. The County Council then has until June 15 to deliberate and pass a balanced budget.

All the townhalls can be watched live on facebook.com/aacoexec, online on the county website at bit.ly/arundeltv, and on Arundel TV's cable channels: Channel 38 on Verizon and Channel 98 on Comcast / Broadstripe.  We encourage people to sign up at https://aacounty.org/budgettownhalls to join via Zoom so they can give public comment.
