Part of the Magothy River Trail series of the Magothy River Association, this video describes the main features of Kinder Farm Park, with interviews of the Park Ranger as well as the volunteers of the sawmill and the blacksmith forge.
Gustave Kinder is pictured here at the end of the 19th century. The Kinder Farm complex began in 1898 when he bought 41 acres in Millersville. Between 1902 and 1907 his brother, Henry Kinder Sr., purchased his first of many parcels of land adjacent to Gustave. Henry's home, built in 1926, houses the Kinder Farm Farmhouse Museum.
Kinder Farm Park is one of the treasures of the 5th District. Thank you to the Magothy River Association for putting together this great video that shares the rich history of this county park.
