The Defense Department remembers and honors those Americans who were prisoners of war and those who served and never returned home. DOD's POW/MIA Accounting Agency continues the search for the missing, fulfilling the nation's promise to leave no service member behind.

I cannot even begin to imagine the gut wrenching void of not knowing where, in unfriendly territory, your child, spouse, sibling, loved one might be. Friday, September 20th is the 46th National POW/MIA Recognition Day, honoring the service, sacrifice and courage of our soldiers who didn’t return home. In recognition of these brave souls, the County Council passed Resolution 37-24 and has displayed a Missing Man table in the lobby of 44 Calvert Street. If you see a Missing Man table display during the course of your day tomorrow, or even if you don’t, I hope we can all take a moment to reflect on the hole that has been left in the hearts of loved ones, missing their soldiers who never came home.
