From the Anne Arundel County Fire Department:
This past fall, a group of golfers were playing golf and noticed smoke coming from a house near the Bay Hills Golf Course. They noticed the house was on fire, they immediately called 911 and ran to the house. When they got to the house one of the residents was returning from school and had just come in the front door. The golfers were able to save the family dogs.
Our firefighters responded and extinguished the fire. The quick actions by the golfers and the resident limited the amount of damage done by the fire. Last week, we held a reunion between some of the firefighters, the golfers and the residents. We would like to remind everyone to always have a working Smoke Alarm and never hesitate to call 911 if you think your house might be on fire.
