What an honor to attend the recent groundbreaking for the Annapolis YWCA.
The YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization both locally and throughout the world. Our mission is to build an environment where women and girls thrive. Our organization is affiliated with the YWCA USA and dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

I was proud to present a citation from the entire County Council which said:
"In deep appreciation of the exemplary work done through the YWCA, the Anne Arundel County Council members send their heartfelt thanks for your mission of empowerment in an safe environment, where clients may thrive in a place of freedom and dignity."
The County Council passed $500,000 in grant allocations in the FY2023 budget to help make this possible for the YWCA, an incredible organization with a team dedicated to providing a safe haven and empowerment to women and children.
Thank you to our federal and state elected officials for their partnership in this vital effort that will serve young people from ages 13-18.
