Alex Resney is an Analyst with ArundelStat, the performance and analytics team for the county. Alex most recently worked as a staff auditor for Maryland’s Office of Legislative Audits where she evaluated a variety of state organizations for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Alex taught 8th grade writing in Nashville for 2 years as a Teach For America Corps Member in an attempt to emulate those with the greatest impact on her life: her teachers. While there, she developed a passion for ensuring that the voices of those most impacted by policy are considered in the decision making process. Alex has been fortunate to work a wide range of internships including as a Research Analyst for Durham County where she evaluated referral rates for the misdemeanor diversion program and effectiveness of jail mental health programs, as a Children’s Activities Hostess at Walt Disney World, and as an advocate for APOPO, an NGO that trains their “HeroRATs” to detect land mines and tuberculosis. While in school, some of Alex’s favorite projects included developing a Preference Policy for the Chicago Housing Trust and writing a Brief discussing the causes and consequences of Mass Incarceration.
Alex originally hails from Nevada and holds a BS in Sociology from Brigham Young University and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University.
