Annapolis, MD (March 4, 2025) – During the 7th Annual Michelle Obama Awards, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Caucus of African American Leaders honored 14 exceptional women leaders in Anne Arundel County. This year’s ceremony took place at Maryland Hall on March 3, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The theme of this year’s program was “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.”
The event included a musical selection from Rhavin Johnson, poem selections from Kalese Slade, remarks from Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk, Caucus of African American Leaders Convener Carl Snowden, and Anne Arundel County's First Lady Erin Pittman, and a keynote address by Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess.

Every year during Women's History Month, the Michelle Obama Awards program celebrates remarkable women across the county who recognize the importance of upholding gender equity and breaking barriers. In the spirit and tradition of Former First Lady Michelle Obama, the honorees and attendees exemplify many of her traits and commitment to social causes such as education, nutrition, health, social consciousness, and overall gender parity.
