The National Alliance on Mental Illness, or NAMI, first began in Wisconsin in the 1970s. Today, NAMI has over 600 local affiliates, including NAMI Anne Arundel County, which was incorporated in 1984. May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and NAMI-AACo is working to improve the quality of life for individuals affected by mental illness and their families. They host monthly support groups and recovery groups as well as offering numerous resources on treatment options, housing, and even legal representation.
You can learn more about NAMI-AACo by visiting their website and you can also complete their short interest form to join as a volunteer.
