The County’s fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th, but planning for next year’s budget is in full swing now. The nonprofit organizations providing services to county residents see needs first-hand, so please get engaged and share those needs. This administration recognizes how important nonprofit organizations are to providing critical needs, but there is a very long list of requests for support. Whether you advocate for a specific population, a specific program, a broader sector, or for the county to continue funding the Community Support Grant program, every piece of input matters.
There are several ways to participate. Below you will find a list of options you can utilize to have your voice heard during the budget process.
- County Executive Pittman hosts budget town halls each January/February to present the budget outlook and hear what is important to constituents. Click HERE or scroll down to see the schedule.
- If you’ve never submitted testimony, check out the resources developed by the Community Engagement and Constituent Services Office.
- The County Council also hosts meetings to get feedback on the County Executive’s proposed budget. You can attend their town halls or submit written testimony. Check the County Council website frequently for updates.
