AACoFD Fire/Arson & Explosives Investigators charged a man in Glen Burnie with Second Degree Malicious Burning, Destruction of Property, & Possession of a Destructive Device this past Sunday

On December 1, 2024, Anne Arundel County Fire/Arson & Explosives Investigators charged Craig McQuin of Glen Burnie, Maryland, with 2nd Degree Malicious Burning, Destruction of Property, and Possession of a Destructive Device (prohibited flamethrower).

On November 15, 2024, investigators responded to Hickory Hollow Drive, Glen Burnie, Maryland, to assist Anne Arundel County Police Officers with a report of property destruction. Upon arrival, the investigators observed that the words "TRUMP" and "USA" had been burned into the middle of the roadway commonly utilized by the public and maintained by the Creekside Village Homeowner Association. Further investigation led investigators to a TikTok video showing a subject (later identified as Craig McQuin) using a flamethrower to ignite the two words spelled out in the asphalt with an unidentified flammable liquid.

Craig McQuin was subsequently charged by AACoFd Fire/Arson & Explosives Investigators and given a summons to appear for 2nd Degree Malicious Burning, Destruction of Property (greater than $1,000.00), and Possession of a Destructive Device (flamethrower, which is expressly prohibited in the State of Maryland).
