A formal grand opening ceremony will be held today at 2:30 p.m. for the new Jacobsville Fire Station 10. The new station is at 3700 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland. County Executive Steuart Pittman and Anne Arundel County Fire Chief Trisha Wolford will be in attendance to make remarks and commemorate this exciting occasion with a hose uncoupling. The public and media are invited to attend.
The new, modern station sits in the same location as the old station, off Mountain road, and is over 12,000 square feet. It replaces the old fire station that was formerly the old Jacobsville Elementary School, with less than 5,000 square feet. The old school was renovated in the 1980s and housed both the AACoPD, Eastern District Police Station, and the AACoFD, Jacobsville Fire Station for over thirty years. AACoPD moved into its new location off Pasadena road over six years ago. Since then, the county has been working with the fire department to design and construct the new and much-improved fire station.
The station includes an in-house training room, commercial kitchen, physical fitness room, exhaust removal system, cancer reduction features, and drive-through engine bays.
The public is welcome to tour the station and apparatus after the event. There will be fire department staff on site to answer questions. We hope you all can join us this afternoon for this celebratory event.
