Anne Arundel County and the Department of Inspections and Permits is committed to ensuring development projects fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards. Development project submittals must present plans to include building and site features, with regard to vehicular and pedestrian ADA accessibility standards.
Starting May 1, 2021, the Department of Inspections and Permits will require the design professional in responsible charge to provide a Statement of Accessibility Review on the cover page of every plan submittal for the following permit types:
1. All grading permits which include site improvements.
2. Building permits - All commercial and residential new construction, additions, interior alteration and where required by International Existing Building Code (IEBC) due to upgrades. Single family dwelling units, duplex or townhomes are excluded.
