Anne Arundel County Department of Inspections and Permits Announce Permit Center and Licensing Office will be Temporarily Closed to the Public during Land Use Navigator (LUN) Migration

Annapolis, MD (January 28, 2022) - The Department of Inspections and Permits announced today it will temporarily close the Permit Center and the Licensing Office to the public on February 23rd, 24th and 25th as the department transitions to the Land Use Navigator (LUN) permitting platform. Monday, February 21, 2022 all county government offices will be closed in observance of Presidents Day.

“Delays in processing applications for permits must end,” said County Executive Pittman. “This new system will make the process faster, easier, and more accurate for contractors, homeowners and businesses. Let’s get this done!”

The department has been working with the Office of Information Technology and a private vendor on the development and implementation of the Land Use Navigator. The new program provides users with enhanced capabilities that were not available with the previous system, including the ability to apply for permits electronically and paperless.

"The launch of the Land Use Navigator is an exciting transition for the Permit Center and the public", said Mark Wedemeyer, Director of the Department of Inspections and Permits. "During the brief closure staff will be testing LUN as the current permitting database is migrated."

The Permit Center and the Licensing Office will resume regular operations on Monday, February 28, 2022, 8:00 am - 3:45 pm.
