On June 14, 2024, at approximately 7:19 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Keion McKinney of Severn, MD, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds behind a building. He was pronounced dead at the scene. CID Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
Preliminary information indicates the victim exited a townhome and was shot by a male suspect in the rear yard. The suspect subsequently fled the scene. This appears to be a targeted incident, and there is no threat to the community.
