Description of Structure/Property: 2 story, single-family residential home with a basement. Incident took place in the backyard of the structure.
Injuries or Deaths: An adult male was transported with serious life threatening injuries to Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The victim was pronounced deceased at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The victim was the resident of the home.
Firefighter Injury: No injuries.

Preliminary Cause: Energized electric wires were pulled down by falling trees due to a severe thunderstorm.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls Sunday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. reporting trees and wires down throughout the area of Maryland and Disney Ave in Severn, Maryland. Fire Crews were dispatched and arrived on scene approximately ten minutes after the original call to 911.
AACo Fire Crews on the scene reported several large trees down in the area additionally, multiple power lines were down and arching. Due to the size and scale of the incident, the initial crew requested additional resources. Crews worked collectively to identify and prioritize the hazards. During the initial size up of the incident, crews located one adult male suffering from injuries from electrocution. Crews were able to quickly get the patient away from the hazardous environment and advanced medical treatment from Anne Arundel County Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians were immediately initiated.
The victim was transported to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in critical condition. The victim would later succumb this his injuries.
