Traffic Stop/CDS Arrest - Glen Burnie

On August 18, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Northern officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Greenway SE and 1st Avenue in Glen Burnie. Probable cause to search the driver and vehicle was developed at which time officers located a quantity of drugs to indicate possession with the intent to distribute. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was placed into custody. The following was recovered from the driver: 21 individual containers of suspected “crack” cocaine, a clear, plastic baggie containing suspected “crack” cocaine and 26 capsules containing suspected heroin.

Strong-Arm Robbery (Business) - Hanover

On August 18, 2024, officers were alerted to a theft complaint. Further investigation revealed that around 2:00 pm, four male suspects entered the Cigar and Smoke business and stole items from the store. During the incident, an employee was assaulted by one of the suspects. All of the suspects fled the area and the investigation is ongoing.

CDS / Handgun Arrest - Hanover

On August 16, 2024, at approximately 2:40 pm, Western officers responded to the area of Dorsey Road and Connelley Drive in Hanover for a report of a collision involving a vehicle seen driving erratically before striking a curb. Witnesses reported the injured driver left on foot and discarded a backpack. The suspect and backpack were found nearby. Officers recovered a loaded Ruger .22 revolver and a large tied-off bag of cannabis inside the backpack. In addition, 14 individually packaged bags of cannabis were located in the vehicle bringing the total weight to approximately 675 grams.
