Motor Vehicle Theft / Assault (Arrest) - Glen Burnie

On August 27, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard for a motor vehicle theft and assault. The investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the 45-year-old male victim’s vehicle, a gold 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, which was left unlocked and running. As the suspect drove off, the victim attempted to jump into the bed of the truck but fell and was dragged by the vehicle a short distance, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect picked up a second male suspect in the stolen truck. As the suspect drove off, he caused multiple accidents and parked the vehicle. Both suspects fled on foot. Officers searched the area with the assistance of the police helicopter unit and located the suspects at the Cromwell Light Rail Station. Both suspects were arrested and charged. On August 27, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle in Provinces Park, closed to the public after dusk. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled. The officer located the vehicle a short time later in the 1100 block of Clark Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer observed a handgun in the passenger compartment. The officer seized the gun, a Springfield SC40 handgun with an extended magazine loaded with eight rounds of .40 caliber ammunition. The driver was arrested and charged.
