Just a few weeks ago, a team of lifeguards, ranging in age from 15 to 17 years old, saved a young girls life at a Severna Park pool.  They were the right people, in the right place, at the right time, working together.  I had the pleasure of presenting Koby Bragg (16), Josie Crocket(17), & Jonny Reneau(15) council citations this evening, recognizing their swift response and teamwork in an emergency situation.

I have often said that local government can have the greatest impact on your daily life.

In 2019 Ace Aquatics reached out to me, requesting the minimum age for a lifeguard be changed from 16 years old to 15 years old to help cover critical staffing positions at their community pools. Bill 96-19 passed unanimously.  Tonight was a full circle moment for me, seeing how that bill helped put the 5-right people, at the right place, at the right time, in order to save a life.

I am so proud of these young people.
