Attempted Robbery (Commercial) - Glen Burnie

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers responded to an attempted robbery at the Dash In at 6616 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. A male entered the store, removed a drink from the cooler, and walked behind the counter. The suspect produced a knife and demanded that the clerk open a cash drawer. The clerk locked the drawer and then fled to the back of the store. The suspect attempted to pry the drawer open but was unsuccessful. The suspect left the store and walked toward the Red Roof Inn. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. Regional Crimes detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-4730 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700. Suspect: White male, 50’s, wearing a gray sleeveless shirt and gray shorts.


Western District

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Severn

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of Eagle Court in Severn. The investigation revealed the suspect, a 20-year-old male ride-share customer, and a 28-year-old male driver engaged in an argument, at which time the driver declined the suspect’s ride.  The suspect threatened to rob and shoot the driver, who drove off.  The suspect fired several gunshots toward the victim, who was able to get away unharmed. Responding officers located the suspect in his residence in the 1800 block of Eagle Court and took him into custody.

Western District

Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft / Weapons Violation - Gambrills

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded for an attempted motor vehicle theft at the WaWa located at 701 Annapolis Road in Gambrills. A male suspect got out of a gray Nissan occupied by four other male suspects and got into the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2015 Toyota Prius, while the victim was pumping gas. The suspect attempted to start the Prius but was unsuccessful. When officers arrived, the suspect was still seated in the victim’s vehicle.  The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Glock 19 handgun. A search of the Nissan resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm Springfield XD handgun and a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun. The four other male suspects were identified and charged.
