On December 12, 2024, at approximately 4:20 a.m., while on patrol in the area of Annapolis Road and Ridge Road, an officer observed a blue Mazda CX5 traveling at a high rate of speed with no illumination. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Severn Road and Citadel Drive. During the stop, the officers located a stolen 9mm Ruger SR9 handgun with a loaded extended magazine beneath the driver’s seat. The driver was arrested and charged.

On December 12, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of damage to a vehicle caused by gunfire. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported finding two bullet holes in his Ford F-150. Officers located two spent shell casings at the scene. Area residents reported hearing gunshots earlier in the morning. No injuries were reported. Weapons/CDS Violation - Lothian

On December 11, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 4 near Pindell Road in Lothian. The driver, who was found to be impaired by alcohol, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun and over 90 grams of suspected Cannabis, packaged to indicate distribution, were located in the vehicle. Charges are pending against the driver, a 34-year-old female from Virginia.
