First-Degree Assault - Glen Burnie

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., officers responded for an assault that occurred in the area of Route 10 and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. The 28-year-old female victim reported she was a victim of a road rage incident that started on Route 10 near Route 648 and continued onto I-495 and Ritchie Highway.  During the incident, the male driver of the other vehicle pointed a handgun at her.  The victim got away from the other vehicle and called police.  Officers assigned to the Anne Arundel County Police Real Time Information Center (RTIC) determined that the suspect vehicle, a black 2024 Ford Bronco, continued to a residential area in Brooklyn. Officers responded and located the owner of the vehicle, who was positively identified as the suspect in the assault. The suspect was arrested and charged.  The handgun used in the incident was not located.

Southern District

Serious Injury Crash/DUI - Edgewater

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to a vehicle crash on Mitchells Chance Road near Hamlet Club Drive. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Chevrolet Pickup Truck crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2015 Ford Pickup Truck traveling in the opposite direction. The passenger of Ford sustained critical injuries and was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Neither driver was injured. The operator of the Chevrolet was arrested and charged.
