Seventy Years, yes 70 years! The Cape St. Claire Fire Company celebrated 70 years of service today, as families from the peninsula and county, stopped by to celebrate.
While the 70th anniversary isn’t a typical milestone to celebrate, it is for the Cape St. Claire station, as construction for their NEW fire station is just around the corner.
Seeing the announcement of the first and current fire station next to the rendering of the new fire station is both exciting and bittersweet, especially for the firefighters who have built decades of memories in this house. But rest assured, they are ready for a bigger home for their apparatus and crew, and they are bringing the big circle table from the old station with them, a table they’ve cried over, laughed over, decompressed over, laid their head on to rest. If tables could talk…..
