This week I had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting for the NEW playground surface at Broadneck Park. This new surface will make the playground accessible to every child and adult, especially those with disabilities.

This park holds a special place in my heart. When my boys were little, this playground was not in great shape. A dear friend decided it was time to raise money and go to our elected Councilman.

Our family was there for every kite flying fundraiser, and we even purchased a brick to show support.

To see the continued use and improvements of this playground, is awesome!

It all started with a community who wanted a safe place for our kids to play, and now ALL kids can play here safely.

County Executive Pittman, Director Leys, and Recreation and Parks staff unveiled the improvements to this community playground. This park is part of Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks' Community Park Playground Initiative, with seven playgrounds that will have new accessibility features and improvements made this fall.
