The 47th annual Annapolis 10 Mile Run, organized by the non-profit Annapolis Striders Running Club, will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022. The race begins at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 7 a.m. and ends at the Stadium at 9:30 a.m. The downtown dock area will be open by 7:45 a.m. We would ask that you forward this e-mail to your constituents, as well as sharing it on social media platforms.
We have attached a copy of the running route as well as community notifications that will be delivered to county/city residents and businesses on the route. We are also putting out next week Visual Messaging Signs at key locations around the event advising community residents of the race.
For those familiar with the race, we do not expect any significant changes in the race from years past. The race is expected to have 3,000 registrants, including many elite runners. Several roads will be closed on a rolling basis starting at 6:45 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m. Extensive consideration has been given to minimizing the inconvenience to residents and businesses.
Parking spots on area roads will not be affected along the route. Parking along Main St. and King George St. will not be impacted. Sidewalk closures are not planned.
