Unaccompanied 1

Recently I attended a dignified burial ceremony for five unaccompanied veterans who honorably served our country.  None of these men had a single relative present to witness the service so, active duty military,  veterans from all branches, and members of our community stand in the gap to pay their respects.

Mark V Kissal/Army/CPL/5-10-51 - 5-9-53

James H Hansen/Air Force/A1C/10-3-63 - 7-6-67

Bede L Clark/Army/SGT/10-8-1917 - 6-8-1919

Willis A Smutz/Army/SGT/10-7-43 - 8-12-45

Harry A Hinderer/Army/TEC 5/8-28-43 - 12-18-44

God bless each of these veterans for their service to the United States.

Afterward, I took a moment to visit my favorite veteran, my Grandfather.

My grandparents were the first generation of my family to reside here in Anne Arundel County. Our children are the 4th. There's a lot of history here for us, and why we chose this place as our home.
