On February 22, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting that just occurred in the unit block of Park Place in Brooklyn. The caller indicated that an adult male had just shot another adult male inside the residence. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, who was waiting for officers and took him into custody without incident. The officers located the 48-year-old shooting victim inside the residence suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area trauma center for treatment. Preliminary investigation indicates both of the adults involved were familiar with each other and were residents of the address. This is an ongoing investigation. District-level, as well as Homicide detectives, are still gathering information and speaking to witnesses. Weapons Offense - Glen Burnie

On February 22, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation in the area of Richie Highway and Shelly Road in Glen Burnie. During their investigation, officers developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. During their search, officers located a black semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, and a civil amount of suspected marijuana.

Home Invasion/Assault - Laurel

On February 22, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a possible home invasion that just occurred in the 3500 block of Lindenwood Drive in Laurel. The victim told officers the suspect knocked on his door asking for a light for a cigarette. The victim and suspect began to argue, which turned into a physical altercation. As the suspect was on top of the victim on the ground, the suspect stated he was “strapped.” The victim’s roommate heard these comments, obtained his firearm, and fired one round into the ground outside of the residence in an attempt to scare the suspect away. The suspect fled on foot and was subsequently located in the area by officers. As officers were making contact with the suspect, he discarded a black/silver semi-automatic handgun and a loaded magazine. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly. Western District detectives are investigating the incident and any other applicable charges. Stabbing - Annapolis

On February 22, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the Anne Arundel Medical Center, 2001 Medical Parkway in Annapolis at the request of hospital staff. Hospital staff indicated that a 38-year-old stabbing victim had just walked into the emergency room. Officers made attempts to speak with the victim, who was uncooperative with both officers and medical staff. The victim had at least one visible stab wound to their torso. The victim's injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Officers responded to the victim's address on record and were unable to locate any additional witnesses or a crime scene.
