Shooting (Non-contact) - Brooklyn

On February 1, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of shots being fired in the area of 4th Street and Dell Street in Brooklyn. The complainant described what they perceived to be 3-4 juveniles loitering in the 5200 block of 4th Street when they heard the gunshots. After hearing the gunshots, the complainant observed the juveniles as they dispersed. The juveniles were believed to have entered a red, late-model Hyundai sedan and fled the area. Officers located video footage of the juveniles as they fled and observed that two of the juveniles were holding black, semi-automatic handguns. During their investigation, officers discovered two spent casings on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of 4th Street. Officers did not receive any reports of physical injuries or property damage as a result of the shooting. Weapons Offense - Severn

On February 1, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of Pioneer Drive and Arwell Court in Severn. Officers observed suspected marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle as they spoke to the driver. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded black semi-automatic handgun in the passenger compartment. The driver was prohibited from possessing a handgun. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
