Assault/Weapons Violation - Hanover

On January 24, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Dorchester Boulevard near Arundel Mills Boulevard for an assault. The victim advised an acquaintance strangled her. Officers located the suspect, who began to flee. While attempting escape, the suspect attempted to reach into his backpack, and officers deployed their Taser. The Taser was not effective; however, the suspect was taken into custody. While searching the backpack, a loaded Glock 19 with an extended magazine and a small amount of CDS were recovered. Upon further investigation, the handgun was found to be reported stolen from North Carolina. The suspect was charged accordingly.
