Homicide - Laurel

On September 27, 2022, at approximately midnight, officers and firefighters responded to the area of Brock Bridge Road and Tribeca Trail in Laurel for a car fire. The vehicle was located in a field approximately 100 years off the roadway and was engulfed in flames. Once extinguished, charred human remains were located in the backseat area. The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, and the cause and manner of death is pending autopsy. Anne Arundel County Police Homicide detectives are investigating this as a suspicious death and ask anyone with any information to call 410-222-4700.

Update September 30, 2022:
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore performed an autopsy on the remains. The cause of death was ruled a gunshot wound, and this is now considered a homicide investigation. Shots Fired - Pasadena

On December 22, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Tennessee Avenue for shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers learned that there was an argument in the home and the male half shot a gun into the backyard. The weapon was fired over the top of a person's head as they sat on the back porch. As of this writing, we have no indication of any persons/houses being struck. The suspect was taken into custody and charged.

Assault on Police/Tampering with Auto - Severn

On December 23, 2022, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of Citadel Drive and Trafalgar Road for a group of subjects rummaging through vehicles. When Officers approached the subjects, they took off on foot. One of the subjects was caught and began to fight with the officer, kicking him. The officer had minor injuries. The 14-year-old suspect was positively identified as one of the initial suspects by one of the victims and was charged accordingly.

On December 23, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7100 block of Somerton Court for an assault. The victim advised he arrived at his friend's house when another male exited the home. An argument ensued, which resulted in the suspect getting in his vehicle and striking the victim. The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody a short distance away and charged accordingly.

On December 24, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 6400 block of Grafton Garth Court in Glen Burnie for shots heard in the area. Officers located evidence of a gun being fired but did not locate any victims. As of this writing, no victims or property damage has been reported.
