Fatal Crash - Davidsonville

On December 11, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Southern District officers responded to the area of Defense Highway (MD Route 450) near St. Stephens Church Road for a single-vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed that a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 was traveling eastbound on Defense Hwy (Rt. 450) approximately one-half mile east of St. Stephens Church Rd when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a sharp curve in the roadway and struck a guardrail. The Mitsubishi vaulted over the guardrail and struck a tree. The vehicle continued and ultimately came to rest on its roof in a marshy area adjacent to the North River.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was able to exit the vehicle on his own power and was later transported to an area hospital for treatment. The passenger of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. The deceased passenger was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Assault / Threats - Glen Burnie

On December 9, 2022 at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of an assault at Parsley’s Pub, 167 Olen Drive in Glen Burnie. Staff indicated that the suspect entered the pub and was refused service. The suspect stated, “we will see if any of you get out of here alive.” He was escorted from the establishment by an employee. While in the parking lot the suspect threatened to burn down the establishment. The suspect left and returned a short time later with a rifle, which was later confirmed to be a BB gun. Prior to the officer's arrival, the suspect left the parking lot but was located by responding officers. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Western District
Attempt Robbery (Commerical) - Crofton

On December 10, 2022, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of an attempted robbery at the Walgreens, 2633 Brandermill Boulevard in Crofton. Store employees explained that a black male, wearing a ski mask entered the business with his hands in his pockets and announced a robbery. No weapon was displayed. The employee complied and opened the register, at which time the suspect said he was "joking" and left the store. It was unknown if the suspect left in a vehicle or on foot.
