On November 30, 2022, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded for an attempted robbery at La Quetzalteca Latin Grocery located at 5031 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. A female suspect forced her way into the business, which was closed. The female struck one of the employees in the head with a handgun while threatening to kill the employees. The employees forced the suspect outside and secured the door. Responding officers located the suspect nearby and found her to be in possession of an unloaded black semi-automatic handgun. The female was arrested and charged accordingly.

Robbery (Citizen) - Brooklyn

On November 30, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery of a citizen that had just occurred in the 300 block of Church Street in Brooklyn. The victim indicated that as he was walking toward his residence, he was approached by what he believed to be two juvenile males, one of whom was pointing a gun at him. The suspects demanded the victim's property, and upon receipt of the property, both suspects fled on foot. Northern District detectives are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information contact them at (410) 222-6135 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at (410) 222-4700.

  1. Black male, 15-18 years of age, wearing a green coat, blue jeans and red shoes
  2. Black male, 15-18 years of age, wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes

Auto Theft - Pasadena

On November 30, 2022, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers responded to Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road for a motor vehicle collision.  The driver of one of the involved vehicles was starting from a stopped position with a green signal when a white Hyundai Elantra drove through the red signal and struck his vehicle. The three occupants of the Hyundai fled on foot.  Responding officers were able to apprehend two of them quickly, and the third was located hiding in a wooded area and was also arrested.  The Hyundai was reported stolen out of Towson. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

 Serious Injury Crash - Lothian

On November 30, 2022 at 6:00 pm, Southern District officers were dispatched to a traffic crash in the 800 block of Mount Zion Marlboro Rd. The investigation revealed two dark colored four wheeled ATV’s were crossing Mount Zion Marlboro Rd in an eastbound direction from a private driveway. A 2017 Honda Civic travelling southbound on Mount Zion Marlboro Rd struck the second ATV. The impact ejected the driver of the second ATV. The Honda came to a controlled stop and the second ATV came to rest on the right side of the roadway. The driver of the second ATV sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for advanced medical care. The driver of the Honda was not injured. The first ATV was able to cross the roadway and was not struck.

The Traffic Safety Section is investigating.
