Armed Robbery - Brooklyn Park

On July 26, 2022, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery that just occurred at the Park Plaza Motel at 4900 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn. The victim advised that three black males came into his room, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The suspects forced the victim into the bathroom, where they bound his arms and legs. The suspects demanded money, rifled through the victim's pockets, and took his wallet. The suspects grabbed the victim's backpack, left the room, and fled in an unknown direction. Western District
Armed Robbery (Citizen) - Hanover

On July 27, 2022, at approximately midnight, an officer was approached by a 39-year-old male victim who reported he was robbed while working as an unlicensed car for hire in the area of Clark Road in Hanover. The victim picked up two females to give them a ride from Hanover to Bladensburg. A Hispanic male wearing a ski mask also got into the vehicle with the females. The male suspect placed a handgun against the victim’s head and demanded money and the victim’s cell phone. All three occupants then fled. Officers searched the area where the robbery occurred and located the victim’s phone on the shoulder of the road. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. On July 27, 2022, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment and registration violations in the area of Annapolis Road and Newmanstown Drive in Hanover. As officers approached the vehicle, they were met by the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found a tan, semi-automatic handgun inside a bag within the passenger compartment. In addition to the handgun, officers found approximately 32 grams of suspected marijuana. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged accordingly.

On July 26, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were on routine patrol in the area of Southern Maryland Boulevard in Lothian when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment and registration violations. When officers approached the vehicle, they were met by the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. As the driver was exiting the vehicle, he indicated to officers that there was a handgun inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a black, semi-automatic handgun inside of a backpack in the passenger compartment, which was later found to be unregistered. In addition to the unregistered handgun, officers found approximately 15 grams of suspected marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
