Shots Fired - Baltimore

On March 21, 2022, at approximately 8:30 a.m. officers responded to the 4600 block of Kramme Avenue for a bullet that was shot through a window of the residence. The victim advised they did not hear any shots fired and there were no recent calls for service regarding shots in the area. The homeowner did say that she heard what she believed to be glass breaking around 9:00 p.m. the prior evening. The projectile was recovered. Attempted Arson / Home Invasion - Brooklyn

On March 21, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers responded to an address in the 200 block of Rupert Circle for a home invasion. The suspect responded to the home of a juvenile involved in a prior assault involving juveniles. The suspect poured motor oil on the front steps of the residence and attempted to light it on fire. The suspect forced her way into the residence, upon entry the occupants of the house deployed pepper spray causing the suspect to retreat. The suspect was located, arrested and charged.

On March 21, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation in the area of the 7600 block of Arundel Mills Boulevard. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer developed probable cause for a search. The search yielded marijuana and a loaded P80 handgun with a Glock slide. The driver was prohibited from possessing firearms. The occupants were charged accordingly.

Fatal Crash - Severn
On March 22, 2022, at 1912 hours, Eastern and Western District officers responded to the overpass of Route 100 eastbound at I-97 southbound for a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
The investigation revealed that a 2009 Yamaha YZFR1 was traveling eastbound on Route 100 at a high rate of speed approaching the overpass at I-97. The driver failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of the motorcycle, and left the roadway. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle. The driver of the Yamaha was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics with life threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased.
Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is the driver of the Yamaha failing to remain within a single lane. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
