The Department of Aging and Disabilities Announces a Caregiver Educational Workshop for March

Annapolis, MD ( February 15, 2022) - The Department of Aging and Disabilities is pleased to announce several upcoming Caregiver Educational Workshops for March 2022.

On March 23rd at 6:30 pm, physical therapist Ben Ogundipe will present “The Mechanics of Caregiving.” Come learn how to help your loved one with the activities of daily living without jeopardizing your own health as Ben demonstrates injury prevention strategies related to caregiving duties. This workshop will be held at the Pascal Senior Activity Center (125 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie). You can register for this workshop online at http://www.aacounty.org/aging or call 410-222-4375/4339. 

On March 15th at 2:00 pm, Mary Chaput, Family Caregiver Support Program Director, will facilitate the Virtual Dementia Live® Program. This workshop will be held via the Zoom platform. On March 16th at 6:30 pm, the Dementia Live® workshop will be held at the North County/Hein Office (7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie). The Dementia Live workshop is a high-impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. The workshops are presented at no cost to the public by the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
