On December 13, 2021, at approximately 8:55 p.m. officers were conducting foot patrols in the Meade Village neighborhood in Severn when they observed a male with an outstanding arrest warrant for assault. The suspect fled when he saw the officers approaching, but was quickly apprehended. The suspect was found to be in possession of seven plastic bags containing a total of approximately 51 grams of suspected marijuana, 112 suspected fentanyl pills, and two digital scales. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Weapons Violation - Warrant Arrest / Glen Burnie

On December 14, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers observed a subject wanted by Eastern District Detectives on a First Degree Assault warrant. A traffic stop was conducted and a search incident to arrest located a loaded Polymer 80 pistol with 11 hollow-point .40 caliber bullets. The suspect was served with his warrants and charged accordingly with the new handgun violations.

Traffic Enforcement Detail
Members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section, along with officers from the four Police Districts, conducted a high-intensity traffic enforcement detail on Route 10 on December 15, 2021, during the morning hours.
Utilizing marked and unmarked cars for the three and a half hour detail, officers made 69 traffic stops and issued 21 citations and 49 warnings for various offenses ranging from speeding, unsafe lane changes, cell phone usage, and move-over violations. This enforcement effort also included federally certified commercial vehicle inspectors who performed three commercial vehicle inspections. One of the inspected commercial vehicles was placed out of service for safety violations. This enforcement is a continuation of directed enforcement patrols conducted on various county roadways as a result of crashes, aggressive driving, and speed complaints.
Enforcement details will continue to be conducted on various county roadways in an effort to curtail unsafe driving. Citizens observing any vehicles operated in a careless or reckless manner are asked to contact the police department by calling 911 or the non-emergency number 410 222-8610.
