First Degree Assault / Glen Burnie

On October 16, 2021, at approximately 12:25 a.m. officers responded for an assault at the Extended Stay located at 104 Chesapeake Center Court in Glen Burnie. An adult male victim intervened in an assault, separating the two parties. As he was walking away he was approached from behind by a male suspect involved in the assault. As the victim turned around, the male immediately stabbed the 48-year-old victim with a knife. Responding officers located the suspect in a vehicle parked at a nearby Walmart As officers approached, the suspect fled in the vehicle. Officers pursued the vehicle until it became disabled on I-95, north of Baltimore. The suspect was taken into custody. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries to his torso.

On October 15, 2021, at approximately 6:40 p.m. officers responded for a home invasion robbery in the 1800 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn. Three unknown suspects entered the residence, assaulted the victim, and stole her cell phone. The suspects then fled in an unknown vehicle. The victim declined medical attention. Citizen Robbery / Laurel

On October 16, 2021, at approximately 4:20 a.m. officers responded for a robbery of a citizen at the Motel 6 hotel located at 3510 Old Annapolis Road in Laurel. The victim, a 56-year-old male had parked his vehicle on the rear lot of the motel when he was approached by two unknown male suspects wearing bandanas. The suspects struck the victim in his face and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took $3.00 cash from the victim and fled. The victim was unable to provide any further detail. On October 16, 2021, at approximately 7:30 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop of a gray Nissan at Coca Cola Drive and Route 100 in Hanover. Upon speaking with the driver and passenger, the officer determined both subjects had open arrest warrants and took them into custody. Suspected drug paraphernalia was located within the vehicle and the female passenger was found to be in possession of 12 packets of suspected crack cocaine. Both subjects were charged accordingly.

Shooting (UPDATE) / Odenton

On October 15, 2021, at approximately 12:45 p.m. officers responded for several reports of gunshots fired in the 700 block of Hammond Branch Road in Odenton. Shortly after the initial calls were received, a 911 caller reported she was struck by a stray bullet while she was sitting in her apartment, also located on Hammond Branch Road. Witnesses reported seeing an altercation between two subjects, followed by one of the subjects firing several rifle rounds. The subject who fired the shots then fled the area in an Audi sedan. Responding officers quickly located and stopped the Audi and detained the occupants. Meanwhile, other officers responded to provide medical aid for the 23-year-old female victim who was struck by a stray bullet. Officers provided medical aid until relieved by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel, who transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury to an extremity. A canvass of the area revealed damage to a parked vehicle and the exterior of the apartment building. Numerous rifle shell casings were located and collected. A loaded AR-style rifle and a handgun were recovered from the suspect vehicle. The suspect in the shooting is in police custody, however, charges have not yet been filed.
