Threats of Mass Violence / Millersville

On October 5, 2021, at approximately 12:00 p.m. officers responded to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Headquarters for a reported threat of mass violence made by a civilian employee. The suspect allegedly made detailed statements to other Fire Department employees threatening to use a gun to harm people. An arrest warrant was issued for threats of mass violence and the suspect was peacefully taken into custody by an allied agency out of the county.

Shot Fired / Glen Burnie

On October 5, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of Tanyard Knoll Road in Glen Burnie for an armed subject who just fired a shot into the air. When officers arrived the subject obeyed officers' commands and he was safely taken into custody. There were no reported injuries as a result of this firearm discharge.

Serious Injury Crash/ Brooklyn Park
 
On September 30, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Audrey Avenue and Kramme Avenue for a reported crash.
 
The investigation revealed that a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Audrey Avenue when an SSR Motorsport dirt bike traveling northbound on Kramme Avenue ran the stop sign and struck the Toyota. The rider of the dirt bike was thrown from the dirt bike.
 
The rider of the dirt bike was transported by ground to an area trauma center by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics with life-threatening injuries.
 
Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is the rider of the dirt bike failing to stop at a stop sign. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section, and anyone with any information is asked to call the TipLine at 410-222-4700.
 
Update:
The dirt bike rider has since succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital. He has been identified as Conner Riggins a 27-year-old from Baltimore.
