Northern District
Auto Theft-Abduction / Glen Burnie

On July 5, 2021 at approximately 10:54 p.m. Northern District officers responded to the parking lot of the Giant Food store located at 6636 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The caller stated a black male suspect stole their gray Honda Odyssey van and drove off with their five children in the vehicle. Officers saturated the area in search of the subject with the assistance of the police helicopter. A few minutes into the search a male subject contacted police advising he located unattended children in the area of Ordnance Road and Route 10 in Glen Burnie. Officers responded and recovered the children. The stolen 2000 gray Honda Odyssey with a Maryland tag 2EP9754, was not located. The van has damage to the front and rear.  Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135. 

Suspect: black male, older age, bald, no facial hair, wearing all black clothing

 

Eastern District
Weapons Violation / Annapolis (Rt 50 West/Bay Bridge)

On July 6, 2021, at approximately 1:11a.m. an off-duty officer observed a silver Honda minivan On Route 50 in Annapolis matching the description of a stolen vehicle/abduction incident from earlier in the evening in Northern District. Multiple officers responded and conducted a traffic stop on the minivan in the area of Rt 50 West near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Annapolis. The investigation revealed the vehicle was not involved in the earlier incident however, the driver advised a loaded firearm was in the vehicle. A loaded SCCY model CPX-2 9mm pistol and 9 rounds were recovered from the vehicle and a male passenger was placed under arrest.

Weapons; CDS Violation / Glen Burnie

On July 2, 2021 at approximately 8:30 pm Eastern District officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Crain Highway and East Park Drive in Glen Burnie on a black Mercedes for a registration violation. Upon making contact with the driver information was received which resulted in a search of the vehicle. The search revealed a loaded Taurus handgun. The driver was arrested and charged.

CDS Violation / Glen Burnie

On July 4, 2021, at approximately 2:32 a.m. Eastern District officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Tall Pines Court and Elvaton Road in Glen Burnie on a gray Chevrolet sedan for a registration violation. While speaking with the operator of the vehicle officers information was received leading to a search of the occupants and the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of suspected CDS and was arrested. The following items were recovered:

  • 51 individual baggies of suspected crack cocaine 11.75g
  • 1 large bag of suspected crack cocaine 23.61 grams
  • 3 baggies of suspected marijuana 27.27 grams
  • 13 Oxycodone pills
