Rape/Sexual Assault (UPDATE) - Glen Burnie

On Wednesday April 28, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m. officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway for a rape that just occurred. The adult female victim stated she had a ride arranged for her where she was picked up by an adult male in the 800 block of Elkridge Landing Road, Linthicum, Maryland. The male then drove her to the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway. The victim advised the driver drove her around the parking lot where he parked by a set of dumpsters. The male then pulled the victim from the car and pulled her behind the dumpsters. A witness observed this action take place and responded to the hotel lobby where she told the clerk to call 911.

The victim advised she was sexually assaulted by the male who was armed with a knife and also had personal belongings taken. She further stated the suspect fled in his vehicle after the assault while she ran into the lobby seeking help. Patrol officers arrived and secured the crime scene while other units searched for the suspect vehicle which was met with negative results. Detectives further scoured the area for additional witnesses from where she was picked up and where the assault occurred along with securing digital evidence.

The suspect was described as a dark skinned male, approximately 25-30 years of age, with short hair and a goatee and an average build. The suspect was wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark pants, tennis shoes and a dark colored baseball cap. The suspect was operating a dark colored Hyundai sedan during the assault.

Northern District
Shots Fired / Glen Burnie

On May 1, 2021 at approximately 3:55 a.m. officers responded for a report of gunshots fired in the area of Kuethe Road and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and spoke with several residents who reported hearing the sound of several gunshots. One individual reported seeing a dark colored sedan leaving the area just after the shots were fired. Officers located several shell casings in the roadway however no damage or injuries were reported. Weapons Violation; Theft from Auto / Annapolis

On May 1, 2021 at approximately 5:10 p.m. officers responded for a report of a theft from auto in the 1200 block of Van Camp Court in Annapolis. The suspect removed the license plates from the victim’s vehicle and drove off in a red Chevrolet Lumina. A responding officer located and stopped the Lumina in the area of Ritchie Highway and Pasadena Road and observed the stolen license plates in the back seat of the vehicle. The suspect was arrested.  The officer recovered a loaded Beretta Jetfire .25 caliber handgun from beneath the driver’s seat. The driver was arrested and charged.

On May 2, 2021 at approximately 3:35 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a green Dodge Charger in the area of Quarterfield Road and Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie. While speaking with the driver officers observed a loaded 9mm Glock G19 handgun inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The weapon was seized along with two additional loaded magazines. The driver was arrested and charged.

21-714022

On May 3, 2021 at approximately 12:55 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop of a red Chevrolet Malibu in the area of Laurel Fort Meade Road and Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel.  Upon approaching the vehicle the officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.  The investigation led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 pistol with a 50 round magazine.  The driver was arrested and charged.
