Northern District
CDS Violation (Arrest) / Glen Burnie

On February 28, 2021 at approximately 10:45 pm an Eastern District officer conducted a traffic stop of a silver Lexus GX470 at Ritchie Highway and Mountain Road in Glen Burnie. Upon the officer approaching the vehicle, the officer observed a clear gel capsule containing white powder suspected to be heroin in the center console. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 40 gel capsules containing suspected heroin/fentanyl weighing 11.77 grams, a bag containing suspected heroin/fentanyl weighing 1.11 grams and a bag containing suspected marijuana weighing 3.76 grams. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Northern District
Assault / Brooklyn Park

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 5:00 pm Northern District officers responded to Charlie Wards located at 4607 4th Street in Brooklyn Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed the victim walked into the store and approached the sales counter to purchase cigarettes. The suspect walked into the store, approached the adult male victim from behind and assaulted him with a knife. The suspect then fled the store. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to his upper body. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. On February 27, 2021 at approximately 9:05 pm a witness called 911 advising the suspect from the assault was in the area. Officers responded and located the suspect with the assistance of Baltimore City Police in the area of 8th Street and Garrett Street in Baltimore City. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of two knives. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Shooting / Glen Burnie

On February 28, 2021 at approximately 1:55 a.m. Northern District officers responded to Clauss Liquors at 604 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie for gunshots heard in the area. Upon officers’ arrival several shell casings were located. There were no signs of damage to any buildings or vehicles in the area. No known victims or suspects were located. At approximately 7:25 a.m. a shooting victim arrived at an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a lower extremity. Officers determined that the victim was at Clauss Liquors when the gunshots were fired. Eastern District
Shots Fired (Arrest) / Pasadena

On February 27, 2021 at approximately 4:20 pm Eastern District officers responded to the 8300 block of Woodland Road for a report gunshots fired inside the residence. Upon officers arriving in the area they observed a black Kia Optima leaving the area. The driver immediately stopped, made a u-turn and attempted to quickly flee the area. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued to evade the officer. After a short distance, the driver turned into a driveway where he was apprehended by officers. Officers responding to the residence where the gunshots were fired observed two subjects in an enclosed patio. The subjects were ordered out of the house and a loaded 45 caliber handgun was located in the waistband of one of the subjects, who was taken into custody. Several spent shell casings were located outside the dwelling. The driver of the car was also found to have an open warrant. Both subjects were arrested and charged.

Eastern District
Attempted Armed Robbery Citizen / Glen Burnie

On February 28, 2021 at approximately 7:20 pm Eastern District officers responded to the unit block of Mountain Ridge Court in Glen Burnie for an attempted robbery of a citizen. The victim reported he arrived at the above area to visit a friend and was waiting outside when he was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect produced a handgun and made threats. The victim advised he did not have anything and ran to the Shell Station at 345 Hospital Drive. Several officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Western District
Assault / Hanover

See below corrected account of this incident. The weapon was never inside the establishment nor was it pointed at anyone.

 

On February 27, 2021 at approximately 2:20 am Western District officers responded to Cancun Cantina located at 7501 Old Telegraph Road in Hanover for a report of a fight. Several intoxicated subjects were located in the parking lot. Security officers reported one subject, lifted his shirt displaying a handgun. On site security was able to gain possession of the handgun without incident and turned the weapon over to the responding officers. The handgun was determined to be unloaded. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Western District
Attempt Commercial Robbery / Laurel

On February 27, 2021 at approximately 8:45 p.m. Western District officers responded for an attempted robbery at the McDonald’s located at 3382 Laurel Fort Meade Road. The victim stated that an unknown subject entered the business, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash from the register. The employee did not comply and the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Several officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Motor Vehicle Tampering; Theft from Auto Spree - / Edgewater
21-706422, 27, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, 42, 44, 57

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 7:05 am Southern District officers responded to the area of Braxton Way at Millhaven Drive and Dental Road at Barn House Drive in Edgewater for reports of theft from motor vehicles. The victim advised that an unknown subject entered her vehicle and stole items. While canvassing the area, several vehicles were found to have been entered with several items stolen from some of the vehicles. Video from a residence revealed the suspect is a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and white shoes. All vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked.
