CDS Violation (Arrest) / Glen Burnie

On December 30, 2020 at approximately 12:15 a.m. Northern District officers attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of southbound route 10 and Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie. The vehicle turned off its lights in an attempt to avoid identification and then accelerated as to flee the area. The officer lost sight of the vehicle for a brief period but located it traveling slowly due to a damaged front tire in the area of Mountain Road. The officer followed the vehicle to a parking lot in the unit block of Mountain Road where it came to a stop. The driver was taken into custody. Recovered from the vehicle were 28 packages of Suboxone, four glass vials of crack cocaine, $7046.00 in U.S. currency and a small amount (less than 10 grams) of marijuana. The suspect was charged accordingly.

Weapons Violation (Arrest) / Hanover

On December 30, 2020 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Western District officers were working DUI saturation patrol when they observed a vehicle, a 2008 Cadillac DTS, traveling 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on MD 295 near MD Route 100. The officer stopped the vehicle and, upon approaching the vehicle, observed signs of impairment. The vehicle was occupied by two other passengers. The driver was taken into custody. Recovered from the vehicle were a .22 caliber Sig Sauer pistol, two magazines, several rounds of ammunition and a small amount of marijuana (less than 10 grams). The driver and two passengers were prohibited from possessing firearms and arrested.

First Degree Assault / Odenton

On December 29, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Western District officers responded for a report of an assault at a residence in the 500 block of Retreat Court in Odenton. Officers met with residents who reported they got into an altercation outside the apartment with two individuals who are acquaintances of one of the residents. During the altercation, the acquaintance pointed a handgun at one of the residents, who is a 42 year old male, and then fled with another suspect also involved in the altercation. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Western District detectives are following up on leads provided by the victims.
