Northern District
Assault / Glen Burnie

On November 28, 2020 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers responded for an assault at the Bowl America located at 7155 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The male victim, who is a manager at the bowling alley, asked several male patrons to leave because they were refusing to wear face masks, which is a safety requirement of the establishment.  One of the males pushed the manager upon being asked to leave.  The manager then escorted the group of eight males outside.  Once outside, one of the males punched the manager, causing him to fall to the ground.  Other males in the group hit and kicked the manager while he was on the ground.  A second male victim, also an employee of the bowling alley, came to the aid of the manager and was also assaulted by the group. The suspects, who were only described as black males, fled before officers arrived. The manager was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Northern District detectives are investigating and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 410-222-6135 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Weapons Offense (Arrest) / Tracys Landing

On November 30, 2020 at approximately 9:55 a.m. officers responded to the area of West Bay Front Road and Solomons Island Road for a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle crash. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun from the vehicle's passenger compartment. The driver was charged accordingly.

Commercial Robbery / Glen Burnie

On November 30, 2020 at approximately 4:20 p.m. officers responded to a citizen’s complaint of a possible theft. The citizen reported seeing two subjects run out of the Subway restaurant located at 6938 Aviation Boulevard in Glen Burnie carrying the cash register. The subjects entered a silver vehicle and fled the area toward Baltimore Washington Airport. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the employee who advised the subjects entered the store, threatened him with knives, and took the cash register. Robbery detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222- 4720 or the Tip line 410-222-4700.

Traffic Safety Section
Fatal Crash / Severn

On November 29, 2020, at approximately 4:05 p.m. officers responded to the area of Queenstown Road and Ayrshire Court in Severn Maryland for a single vehicle collision involving an ATV. A four wheeled ATV was travelling eastbound in the roadway when the driver lost control of the ATV. The ATV began to rotate and ejected both riders. The driver, who remained conscious, called 911 for assistance. The female passenger sustained critical injuries and was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore City for treatment. As a result of injuries sustained in this collision, the female passenger died of her injuries On November 30, 2020 at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore City. The male driver declined treatment at the scene from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is driver error and speed. Alcohol or drug use do not appear to be a contributing factor in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handling the collision investigation.
