Northern District
Shots Fired / Brooklyn Park

On November 13, 2020 at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers responded for a report of gunshots in the area of the 5200 block of Disney Avenue and Alley 79 in Brooklyn Park. Witnesses reported an unknown subject fired several gunshots from a dark colored vehicle. Several shell casings were recovered from the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of this incident.  Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine 410-222-4700.

Eastern District
Weapons Violation / Glen Burnie

On November 14, 2020 at approximately 10:05 p.m. officers responded for a report of a possible armed subject in the area of Elvaton Road and Hospital Drive. Witness reported a suspicious subject was pacing back and forth in front of the Sunoco gas station. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect who entered a black Toyota Camry as officers approached. Officers approached the Toyota and observed a handgun in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A loaded 9mm Sig Sauer P365 handgun was recovered from the vehicle.  The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Shooting / Crofton

On November 16, 2020 at approximately 8:30 a.m. officers responded for report of a possible shooting at a residence in the 1600 block of Carlyle Drive in Crofton.  Upon arrival officers located an adult female victim outside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her upper body.  She advised officers she was shot by her husband. The victim was transported by the Fire Department to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Officers made entry into the residence and located the victim's husband, deceased, from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.

Southern District
Assault (Arrest Update) / Edgewater

On November 7, 2020 at approximately 7:20 p.m. officers responded to the Coldstone Creamery located at 15 Lee AirPark Drive in Edgewater for an unknown disturbance. The initial investigation found that a black male suspect and black female suspect entered the business without facemasks and were asked to put them on. The suspects were uncooperative and argued with the employees. The argument escalated to the point where the suspect physically assaulted the store employees. The suspects left the scene prior to police arrival in a Silver Nissan Altima with an unknown registration. Fire Department personnel responded and checked both employees for injuries. One of the employees was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspects. Southern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-1960 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Update (11/16/20):

Through investigation, detectives were able to identify both suspects involved in this incident. On November 13, 2020, Ibukunoluwa Opanuga was arrested and charged for her involvement in this assault. Detectives have an arrest warrant for the second suspect, Musaab Abdul Ali, 35, of Washington, DC. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Musaab Ali is asked to contact 410-222-1960.
