Homicide (Arrest Update)

On Saturday, September 12, 2020, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police responded to the 500 block of Delaware Avenue in Glen Burnie for the report of a fight. When officers arrived, they found a subject deceased lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). The deceased subject was identified as Fillmore James Burriss, a twenty-seven-year-old male from the 200 block of Kent Road in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Homicide detectives responded to the scene along with the Evidence Collection Unit. A canvass was done where physical and digital evidence was collected from the crime scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy which revealed Mr. Burriss cause of death was a gunshot wound(s) with the manner being homicide.
As the investigation progressed numerous eyewitnesses to the incident were interviewed. The witnesses advised Mr. Burriss had an argument with three unknown black males about being videoed. It was at that time one of the males produced a handgun and shot him during the altercation. The suspect/shooter was positively identified by witnesses as Khiry Dewann Queen, a twenty-one year old male from the 200 block of Kuethe Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Khiry Dewann Queen with Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Loaded Handgun on Person, Handgun on Person, and Firearm Used in a Felony/Violent Crime.
The Anne Arundel County Police are actively searching for the suspect. If anyone knows of Khiry Dewann Queen's whereabouts they are urged to call 911 and not approach the suspect as he is considered armed and dangerous. UPDATE:
On Friday, October 30, 2020 at approximately 2:36 a.m., Khiry Dewann Queen turned himself in to the Anne Arundel County Police Northern District without incident. He was then transported to Central Booking where he was booked on the Second Degree Murder and related charges in regards to the homicide of Fillmore Burriss.
Even though an arrest has been made, this is an active and fluid investigation where the Anne Arundel County Police Homicide detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling the Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731. Shooting / Brooklyn Park

On October 30, 2020 at approximately 1:10 a.m. officers responded for a report of gunshots in the area of Old Riverside Road and Riverview Road in Brooklyn. Upon arrival officers located an 18 year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence in the 600 block of Old Riverside Road. The victim and a witness were outside when a dark colored sedan approached, occupied by a white male and two black males. The victim was called over to the vehicle. While the victim was standing next to the vehicle, several gunshots were fired by one of the vehicle occupants, striking the victim. The vehicle then fled. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Commercial Burglary (Arrest) / Glen Burnie; Brooklyn Park
20-735379, 20-735381-84, 20-735404
On October 29, 2020 officers responded for multiple reports of commercial burglaries in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, and the 4800 and 5000 blocks of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. Northern District detectives began investigating, canvassing the area for possible suspect information. As a result, detectives were able to obtain video of the suspect. During the course of the investigation a detective observed an individual fitting the description of the suspect. The suspect was detained and identified. The continuing investigation resulted in the recovery of evidence linking the suspect to burglaries of the Papa Johns located at 4809 Ritchie Highway and Linda’s Steak Subs located at 5012 Ritchie Highway. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly. Northern District Detectives continue to investigate the remaining burglaries and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6135.

Assault (Gunshots) / Glen Burnie

On October 29, 2020 at approximately 11:10 p.m. an officer flagged down by an assault victim. The 26 year old male victim was in his vehicle in front of his residence in the 7900 block of Crainmont Drive when his vehicle was struck by several rounds of gunfire. The victim was not struck by any of the rounds. The victim did not see where the gunshots originated from and did not see who fired the rounds. Eastern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6145.
Western District
Fatal Crash / Glen Burnie

On October 29, 2020 at approximately 7:15 a.m. officers responded to Dorsey Road near Aviation Boulevard for a multiple vehicle crash. A gray Chevrolet Colorado was traveling eastbound on Dorsey Road, east of the intersection with Aviation Boulevard. A white Chevrolet Express was traveling westbound on Dorsey Road approaching Aviation Boulevard. For unknown reasons, the eastbound Colorado crossed over the painted center lines and struck the Express in the westbound travel lanes. The driver of the Colorado was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Express was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.
The primary cause of the crash is the Colorado failing to drive right of center. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Fatal Crash / Glen Burnie

On October 29, 2020, at approximately 6:35 p.m. officers responded to Quarterfield Road at Parke West Drive for a crash involving a pedestrian. A black Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling eastbound on Quarterfield Road approaching the intersection with Parke West Drive and struck a pedestrian who was walking across the roadway. The pedestrian was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics. The driver of the Ram did not suffer injuries. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Preliminarily, pedestrian error is believed to be the primary cause of this crash as a result of the pedestrian crossing the intersection against the traffic control device. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
